The sector undergoes a medical checkup

A recent study conducted by the manufacturer Scania and the Occupational Risk Prevention company Cualtis has analyzedthe habits of transport professionals through 27,000 medical examinations of workers between 18 and 65 years of age.

Among the conclusions, it is worth noting that 60% of the carriers never or almost never do any sport. Closely related to this data is the fact that at least 41% of them are overweight and another 32% obese.

It is also known that 42% would maintain a healthy diet and their hypertension data is generally similar to that of the rest of the population.

The most common pathologies in these examinations are those related to their profession, such as bone and joint problems, which are typical of workers who spend a lot of time sitting or standing.

This is why LIBERTIA wants to align itself with the main associations and players in the sector and encourage a healthier lifestyle among professionals in the sector and thus prevent the many problems that can occur by promoting the ten tips derived from this study:

  1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.
  2. Eat a varied diet.
  3. 30 minutes of physical activity daily.
  4. Sleep for at least 7 hours at a time.
  5. Abandon the consumption of alcohol and tobacco.
  6. Avoid stress by strengthening ties with loved ones.
  7. Attend company medical check-ups.
  8. Stretch at each regulatory stop. *According to Regulation 561/2006
  9. Pay attention to physical signs of fatigue.
  10. Socializing to take care of the mind.
